| Grazie per le sue lettere e per le immagini della nuova chiesa. Scusi se non ho risposto prima alle sue ultime quattro lettere, ma siamo stati molto impegnati con tutte le celebrazioni per il 50° anniversario di Don Giancarlo in Mandriolo. | Thank you for your letters and for the pictures of the new church. Sorry if I haven't replied earlier to your last four letters but we have been very busy with all the celebrations for the 50th anniversary of Don Giancarlo in Mandriolo. |
| È stato un momento davvero speciale per la nostra parrocchia. L’intera comunità. L'intera comunità ha partecipato alle celebrazioni, insieme con molti vecchi amici di don Giancarlo; È stato veramento un evento importante per lui! Sabato 12.9.2009 abbiamo avuto un concerto di musica sacra in suo onore, mentre domenica il 13.9.2009 abbiamo celebrato la solenne Santa Messa, presieduta da molti preti, poi un concerto di campane e poi ancora un grande pranzo tutti insieme. Abbiamo anche consegnato al festeggiato alcuni doni come segno di riconoscimento per il suo lungo servizio. | It has been a very special time for our parish. The whole community took part in the celebrations, as well as old friends of Don Giancarlo's; it has been such an important goal for him! On Saturday the 12th Sept. we had a concert of sacred music in his honour, while on Sunday the 13th we celebrated the solemn Holy Mass with lots of priests and then we had a bell concert and a big lunch all together. We also gave him some gifts as a big thanks for all his services. | |
| Nonostante tutte le difficoltà ed i problemi che affliggono la nostra parrocchia e la nostra società, è stato un momento di pura gioia! Tuttavia, non possiamo ignorare i problemi reali, come le precarie condizioni di salute dei nostri due sacerdoti e la mancanza di fede religiosa che interessano il nostro tempo. È stato di grande conforto sapere che dall'altra parte del mondo, una comunità intera fedeli condivideva la nostra gioia e pregava con e per noi. È stata una soddisfazione per Don Giancarlo che ha servito la sua comunità continuativamente per più di mezzo secolo. | Despite all the difficulties and the problems affecting our parish and our society, it has been a time of pure joy! However, we cannot ignore real problems such as the poor health conditions of our two priests and the lack of religious faith affecting our time. It has been of great comfort knowing that on the other side of the world a whole faithful community was sharing our happiness and was praying with us and for us. It has also been a relief for Don Giancarlo who has served his community ceaselessly for more than half a century. | |

COSTRUZIONE DELLA VOSTRA NUOVA CHIESA Conto di spedirle, nel giro di pochi giorni, una somma di denaro (il cui ammontare non è ancora stato fissato) destinata alla nuova chiesa. Questo denaro dovrebbe permettervi di continuare i lavori già iniziati. Al momento non posso dare ulteriori informazioni. La ringrazio per averci inviato le foto con i dettagli dei lavori in corso. THE CONSTRUCTION OF YOUR NEW CHURCH Hopefully in a few days I will be able to send you a sum of money (which amount has not been established yet) for the new church. This sum should let you continue with the construction that you have started. At present I cannot give you further information. Thank you for sending us pictures and details of the work in progress. ADOZIONE DEI BAMBINI Non appena possibile inizierò a raccogliere i soldi per i vostri bambini poveri; se dispone delle letterine o di nuove foto dei bambini, voglia spedirle affinché io le consegni alle famiglie, possibilmente prima di Natale. |
ADOPTION OF THE CHILDREN As soon as possible I will also start collecting the money for your poor children; if you have new letters or pictures of the kids, please send them as well so that I will be able to give them to the families, hopefully before Christmas. |
