Ho comunicato a tutti il contenuto della sua lettera (come al solito, è anche pubblicata su www.mandriolo.it) anche per conoscere l'orientamento della ns. parrocchia sulle domande che lei ci ha formulato. Ci fa piacere sapere che desiderate la presenza di qualcuno di noi per l'inaugurazione della vostra bella chiesa. Questo è un segno di grande amicizia e sarebbe meraviglioso se si realizzasse, anche perché vedersi ed abbracciarsi di persona, dopo tanti anni passati insieme, seppure lontani, renderebbe ancora più tangibile la nostra fratellanza, proprio in uno dei momenti più importanti, forse il più significativo, della nostra storia comune.

I reported the contents of your letter to everybody here (as usual, it's also published on our Internet site www.mandriolo.it) in order also to know about the way our parish feels on the questions you raised to us. We are glad to hear you would like to have someone of us for the inauguration of your beautiful church. It's a sign of great friendship and it would be wonderful if it could come true, also because meeting and hugging each other, after so many years together, although at distance, would make our brotherhood even more real, just in one of the most important moments, perhaps the most meaningful one, of our common history.

Al momento, però, non sono in grado di determinare se realmente qualcuno di noi potrà presenziare all'evento. Pur senza escluderla a priori, considerando con molto realismo la cosa, le probabilità che questa si realizzi non sono alte. Perciò, potete decidere liberamente la data dell'inaugurazione, senza sentirvi condizionati dalla nostra eventuale (al momento improbabile) presenza. Comunque, nel caso, ci adatteremmo alla data prescelta. A proposito, c'è presso di voi qualcuno che parla italiano?

However, at present I am not in the position to state if someone might actually assist at this event. Although I cannot discard it beforehand, if we consider the fact realistically, it is rather unlikely this might happen. Therefore, you are fully free to decide by yourselves on the most suitable date for such inauguration, without feeling influenced by our prospective(at present quite unlikely) presence. Anyway, we would, if any, adapt to your chose date. By the way, is there anyone among you who can speak Italian?

Una cosa mi incuriosisce: la vostra chiesa è realmente costata finora (soltanto) 43.750 euro oppure avete dovuto aggiungere soldi vostri o di altra provenienza? E quanto verrà praticamente a costare l'intera opera alla fine?

There's something which arouses my curiosity: has your church actually cost so far (only) 43.750 euros or did you have to add more money on your part or from other sources? If so, how much will the full building cost in the end?

Nel mese di dicembre abbiamo raccolto le offerte relative alle adozioni (come anticipato nella mia email del 1.2.2011, vi abbiato spedito quanto raccolto in questi mesi: 10.400 euro sul SOCIAL SERVICE CENTER. 9.392 sono per le adozioni e gli altri 1.008 per le vostre necessità. Ci informi quando avrà ricevuto il tutto). Troverà nell'allegato la lista completa ed aggiornata delle adozioni e dei relativi offerenti. Potrà notare che il numero delle adozioni è diminuito e io ritengo che questo dipenda anche dal perdurare dell'attuale crisi economica. Comunque molti non hanno fatto mancare il loro aiuto, e se vorrà ringraziarli nel modo che ritiene più opportuno io mi impegnerò a recapitare personalmente la sua lettera ad ognuno di loro.

In December we collected the offers for the adoptions (as informed you with my email of February, 1st 2011, we dispatched some money collected in these months: 10.400 euros, trough the SOCIAL SERVICE CENTER. 9.392 euro are intended to adoptions and the others 1.008 euros to your needs. Please, inform us when you receive everything). You will find herewith attached the complete and updated list of the matching between offers and adoptions. You will notice that the number of these adoptions has gone down and I believe this is due to the present persisting economic crisis. Anyway many of us did not fail to let you have their support: if you mean to thank them, in any way you felt it more appropriate to you, I will commit myself to delivering your letter personally to everyone of them.

Circa la salute dei nostri sacerdoti, attualmente don Piergiorgio è piuttosto malconcio ed è stato costretto a cure molto pesanti. Quanto a suo fratello maggiore don Giancarlo, ogniqualvolta gli chiediamo "come sta?", lui, immancabilmente e con un pizzico di humor, risponde: "abbastanza male". In effetti è molto malridotto ma continua a volere celebrare la Messa. Invece, Don Wojciech, il nuovo parroco, molto più giovane e attivo, in questo periodo sta cercando di conoscere meglio la gente di Mandriolo, passando nelle case per le benedizioni. Le porto i saluti di tutti i nostri sacerdoti. Pregate sempre per loro.

About the health of our priests, don Piergiorgio is now rather battered and was forced to care heavily. About to his older brother, don Giancarlo, whenever we ask him "how are you?", he invariably, and with a bit of humor, he replies, "pretty bad". In fact it is very shabby but still wants to celebrate the mass. Instead, Fr Wojciech, the new pastor, much younger and active, at this time is trying to learn more about the people Mandriolo, passing from homes for the blessings. I bring you greetings of our priests. Pray for them always.
